Service Description

This is a workshop for anyone who would like to learn how to use the photographic enlarger in order to print photographs. Print your own black & white film in the darkroom. You will have a full introduction to the darkroom practice under our guidance. Explore the magic of analogue photography. Darkroom Session : 2pm – 5pm This workshop is divided into two parts, the film process in theory which covers the subject of the basic principles of the film, types and the differences between them, how to process them and the various techniques available. The second part is where the action happens. You will learn in practice how to handle film, develop it and load your negative into an enlarger in order to print your photographs. You’ll be given instructions for the equipment you will be using and the things you need to know in order to start. What we will cover: * Chemistry for printing a b/w Film * Darkroom practice * Types of paper, resin and fibre * Enlarger use and multigrade filters * Making test strips * Making your own prints * Presenting your work By the end of this workshop you will have a better understanding about the process of printing the film and a print made by you ready to take home. Level of experience: This is for anyone who would like to learn from scratch or would like to practice their skills. What you need to bring: Bring your b/w negatives, 35mm or 120 formats up to 6x6. What we provide: We provide all the chemistry and resin coated paper.
